Another interesting book as research for my FISH series project.
I just finished reading this thriller by Mira Grant set in the near future about mermaids. It was interesting to read her take on the unfolding of the mermaid myth.
I personally would’ve preferred a few less POVs, but it was still an enjoyable read.
In this book, there is mention of an ancient myth about Atargatis. This myth hails from Syria where. In ancient Roman times, eunich priests worshipper this fish-tailed goddess of fertility and overall well-being.
A stone replica of Atargatis who is considered the Syrian counterpart to the Greek Aphrodite.
